Biography
Daniel Trivedy is a multidisciplinary artist of Indian descent based near Swansea. His practice uses art as a form of enquiry, drawing on research, reflection, and material experimentation to explore themes of identity, migration, belonging, and connection. Informed by critical theory and personal histories, his work examines the tensions between cohesion and division in contemporary society.
Working across a range of materials and processes, Trivedy is interested in how objects and surfaces carry layered histories and shifting meanings. Through transformation, repetition, and re-contextualisation, his work explores the relationship between material culture, memory, and place, creating spaces for reflection on the social and emotional dimensions of lived experience.
In 2019, Trivedy was awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Art at the National Eisteddfod. His work is held in both private and public collections, including National Museum Wales and Cyfarthfa Castle.
