Biography
Cardiff 2008
Gold Medal for Craft & Design
Suzie, a goldsmith, silversmith and metal artist, was inducted into the Gorsedd of Bards in 2010 for her contribution to the arts in Wales. Inspired by fossils, natural geometry, and the land and seascape of Wales, her work blends contemporary design with a strong sense of place and identity. Recent sculptural work includes metal shaped with precision and intention, contrasting with the weather-worn surface of local driftwood and corroded metal remnants. The handcrafted and precious gains new resonance when placed with materials shaped by chance, erosion, and neglect. She has exhibited internationally, undertaken major commissions and won multiple awards for her distinctive work.
