    Ebbw Vale 2010

    Gold Medal for Fine Art

I’ve been working with light since 1995, creating gallery installations, public commissions and photographic works. I studied Fine Art at Newport and Cardiff colleges of art, gaining a masters degree in 1987. Since then I have worked as an artist as well as having various other roles; helping to develop opportunities for artists in public realm projects throughout Wales and spending ten years teaching Fine Art part time at the University of Wales Newport. I now work mainly from my studio at Chapter, Cardiff. My current practice moves between studio based photography where movement is the subject of the work and public lighting projects where I collaborate with architectural lighting companies to develop programmed lighting schemes to transform the appearance of public spaces at night.
