Art Drop '26 : Horses For Courses
A vivid snapshot of contemporary Wales, our first exhibition of the year brings together established and emerging artists in an inclusive winter showcase that is bold, honest and rigorously curated.
This winter, Canfas presents Horses for Courses, a vibrant mixed exhibition that brings together well-seasoned artists alongside an exciting selection of emerging voices. Curated by artist Natalie Chapman, the show celebrates work that explores subjects not always afforded space on traditional gallery walls, offering audiences an alternative, inclusive and refreshingly honest perspective on contemporary practice in Wales.
Spanning a diverse range of media, approaches and lived experiences, Horses for Courses highlights the breadth and depth of artistic talent currently flourishing across the country. From bold, established practitioners to artists at the beginning of their journeys, the exhibition demonstrates how Wales continues to produce work that is thoughtful, challenging and richly varied.
By embracing difference of background, theme and artistic language the exhibition reflects a contemporary Wales that is unafraid to tell new stories and ask difficult questions. Under Chapman’s considered curation, the works sit in dynamic conversation with one another, revealing unexpected connections and shared concerns across generations and practices.
