Katie Allen & Verity Pulford :

Overview
This special exhibition brings the work of glass artist Verity Pulford and painter Katie Allen into luminous dialogue that express a deep reverence for the complexity and wonder of nature.

Our October exhibition brings together the work of glass artist Verity Pulford and painter Katie Allen in a poetic dialogue about the intricacies of our world restorative power of nature. Though working in different media, both artists create imagined worlds rooted in close observation of plants, seasons, and organic forms, offering spaces of refuge, calm, and beauty.

Both Katie and Verity move fluidly between representation and abstraction, using delicate structure and fine detail to portray the hidden systems of the living world. Their works are not literal depictions but parallel environments-idealised, unspoiled, and untouched by human destruction-that invite prolonged looking and offer a sense of protection and contemplative escape.

In uniting glass and paint, this exhibition foregrounds the artists' shared fascination with light, pattern, and the intricate architecture of nature. The exhibition reveals how two distinct practices can articulate intertwined visions of a fragile yet profoundly hopeful natural world, celebrating both the grandeur of landscape and the overlooked beauty of its smallest details.
