Billy Adams
"My work is influenced by how we see - view- the landscape, and the perceptions this experience provokes."
Billy is a potter originally from Northern Ireland who now lives near Cenarth in Carmarthenshire. In his work, Billy explores and incorporates aspects of the landscape and dramatic seascapes, reflecting the beauty and wildness of Ireland and Wales. He works within the vessel format, combining textures and colours to give the viewer an insight into his private view of the intimate relationship between people and the landscape. This world is a combination of structures and forms interacting with manmade elements, challenging traditional notions of pottery by blending functional and non-functional aspects in his designs. His work is exhibited and collected throughout the world and he is a Fellow and Council Member of the Craft Potters’ Association of the UK, member of the Makers Guild in Wales, and a Director of International Ceramics Festival.
