    With emotional depth, Sophie Myfanwy Wellan's work draws on ideas of ritual, power and transformation, shaped by an enduring fascination with the interconnectedness of all things. Working instinctively, she seeks a deeper truth through the language of materials and the spiritual nature of substance itself, holding onto a sense of personal connectedness in the process.
    Her recent work turns to the life and mysterious beauty of the bee, made in wax and seeds. The pieces convey both reverence for the bee and an awareness of its vulnerability, reflecting on humanity's dependence on it and its vital role in the balance of life on Earth. In highlighting its decline, the work becomes a quiet plea — for healing, renewed connection, and gentler coexistence with the planet we share.
