    Gold Medal for Craft and Design

    Born in Bangor, North Wales in 1954,Julia grew up in Aberaeron, Ceredigion. Educated at Winchester School of Art and the Royal College of Art,she won a British Council Scholarship to research Slovak culture, which was the beginning of her artistic connection between Wales and Europe. Her work has been exhibited in leading galleries in Britain and Europe, and in 2017 she won the gold medal at the National Eisteddfod for her wire installation - 'Room within a Room'. Recent commissions include Carmarthenshire Museum, The National Glass Centre, and Newton House, Dinefwr.
