Beth Marsden
“My work is continuously going through periods of change as I develop new interests and subject matters to paint.”
Beth Marsden’s recent paintings explore the cyclical nature of human and geological destruction and construction, reflecting on the hope embedded in our built environment and the horror of seeing it dismantled. Darkness plays a key role in these works, serving as both a symbol of deviance and a tool for pictorial depth. Despite humanity’s fear of darkness, the Beth suggests it is in the darkness where we find peace, as it is where we dream. Beth’s practice is marked by continuous change, with new interests and subject matters evolving over time. Her work is often in a state of flux, which serves as a constant source of excitement and creative drive. This ongoing transformation is central to her artistic process.
