Ellis O'Connor
“My work is a visceral response to the profound emotional experiences of being immersed in natural environments and my heightened sensitivity to the world around me.”
Ellis is a contemporary landscape artist from Scotland whose expressive paintings and drawings capture the shifting rhythms of the natural world. Working largely outdoors, often in wild and extreme conditions, she describes her process as almost performative — allowing wind, rain, and atmosphere to shape each piece. Her large-scale oil paintings blur the boundaries between self and environment, conveying the movement of sea, land, and air through bold gestures and layered abstraction. Each work distills nature’s elemental energy into a sensory and emotional encounter, inviting viewers to experience the landscape not as a scene to be observed, but as a living force felt and remembered.
