Rose Sanderson

  • Biography

"I aim to highlight the diversity and beauty of the smaller things in nature which often go unnoticed."

Rose's work is inspired predominantly by the natural world, particularly the marine life she finds around her on the rugged Welsh coast — lichens and barnacles growing on rock, observed closely and rendered with empathy. Working in painting and drawing, she produces delicate yet expressive pieces that provoke in an understated way, often abstracted and developed organically on the paper, much as they do in nature itself.
With a BA (Hons) in Illustration, Rose is a recognised artist within the fine art world, exhibiting internationally and producing work for a range of companies and private collections. She is particularly interested in the crossover between art and science, and welcomes collaborations with artists and scientists exploring similar territory.
