Nicola Beattie
"The wood forms I make have a focus on stillness and peace...I make these sculptures to be absorbed into that quiet stillness, my hope is that others will experience my work in the same way."
Nicola Beattie is a sculptor whose work is shaped by the quiet resonance of her Welsh homeland. Now based in Pembrokeshire, she draws deeply from its landscape and the traces of history embedded in ancient sites and the weathered remains of times past. Her carved forms in wood summon a stillness born of such places—spaces where time seems to pause and the past breathes softly through the land. A graduate of Wimbledon School of Art, Beattie’s sculptural practice spans over three decades, her works exhibited widely across the UK and abroad, and held in collections throughout Europe, America, Australia, and Asia. Notable bronzes include public works in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and a major installation at Tolo Harbour, Hong Kong.
