Sian McGill
"Much of my inspiration comes directly from the places where I love to spend time outdoors enjoying the coastline and mountains of Wales."
Sian McGill, born in Wales on St David's Day, studied English at Swansea University before returning to her childhood love of art. Now living on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, she paints in response to the natural world, seeking to capture the energy and atmosphere of the places she visits. Sian often works outdoors or in her home studio, drawing inspiration from direct observation or photographs. An expressive and intuitive artist, she uses brushes, palette knives, and even her fingertips, exploring colour, texture, and mark-making to produce lively, unpredictable results. Her paintings often seem to emerge organically, full of movement and vitality. Sian exhibits widely in the UK and abroad, and her work has been selected for the Royal Cambrian Academy.
