Biography

Carole Hodgson, who lived between St Dogmaels and London until her passing in early 2025, was an artist of remarkable versatility and depth. Educated at the Wimbledon School of Art before continuing at the Slade, she spent a lifetime engaged in a vibrant artistic dialogue-exhibiting with, teaching, and drawing inspiration from many of the world's foremost contemporary artists. Represented by Flowers Gallery, Cork Street, London since 1973, her long association with the gallery culminated in a major retrospective in 2015. Hodgson's practice encompassed an extraordinary range of materials, from bronze and glass to gouache, cellulose fibre, and concrete, reflecting an equally diverse array of influences that shaped her distinctive and ever-evolving vision.
