Matthew Edenbrow

Biography
"My work draws upon my life long fascination with wild animals and the natural world and seeks to capture everyday moments within an animals life."
Mathew is as a self-taught ceramic animal sculptor based in Llangeitho, Ceredigion.  Through his work, Mathew aims to reveal an animal's true nature through his incredible ability to capture its lifelike form. His highly detailed work is strongly informed by his varied life experiences with animals and his academic understanding of animal behaviour.  Mathew first studied Ecology at Leeds University before completing a Master's degree in Ecology with a focus on animal behaviour at the university of Bangor in North Wales.  He earned his  PhD investigating the evolution of animal personality traits at the University of Exeter and then worked for several years in academia, a career that permitted him to observe a variety of animals in their natural environments and gain deeper insight into their behaviour and motivations.
