Claire Wigley

Biography
"I want to normalise women doing things they enjoy, to show their humour, and courage"

Claire is a North Pembrokeshire artist who enjoys painting from life and memory. Her work is about capturing the humour and everyday scenes of her life.  Much of her current work is inspired by her earliest memories of visiting the sea when on holiday with her Aunt Betty, a lady who just loved the waves.  As a child Claire remembers thinking Aunt Betty commanded the waves and she recalls the happiness of those times when she paints today. Not entirely comfortable in the sea herself, Claire has occasionally been seen paddling near the shore, and she looks on with envy and admiration at the fabulous ladies who go in full of giggles, whatever the weather.
