Dottie-may Aston

Biography
"For the extent of my memory, I have made art, it is simply all I have known."
Dottie-may Aston is a painter and sculptor based on Anglesey whose work intertwines still life and symbolism to examine the relationship between objects and the human form.   A First-Class Fine Art graduate of Aberystwyth University, she explores how emotion, memory, and transformation become embedded in material presence. Painting operates for her as both introspection and release, with her most resonant works emerging from moments of clarity and feeling. Informed by historical and international painting traditions, she negotiates a balance between intensity and stillness, imagination and restraint. Her evolving practice moves beyond conventional still life, opening a space between reality and reverie that invites viewers into an intimate, contemplative world.
