Mae Elizabeth Haines, artist o Sir Benfro sydd wedi bod yn gweithio yno ers dros 40 mlynedd, yn creu paentiadau breuddwydiol sy'n cyfuno haniaeth, tirwedd ac athroniaeth, gyda gweithiau sydd mewn casgliadau mawr yng Nghymru. Mae Lucy Burns, darlunydd o orllewin Cymru, yn ailddychmygu llên gwerin a mytholeg trwy inc a gouache, gan archwilio hunaniaeth a pherthyn wrth ehangu ei hastudiaethau i lên gwerin byd-eang.

Elizabeth Haines, a Pembrokeshire-based artist of over 40 years, creates dreamlike paintings blending abstraction, landscape, and philosophy, with works held in major Welsh collections. Lucy Burns, an illustrator from west Wales, reimagines folklore and mythology through ink and gouache, exploring identity and belonging while expanding her studies into global folklore.

Mae Canfas yn falch o gynnal y sioe gydweithredol newydd hon gan dair artist benywaidd sy'n archwilio syniadau am atgof, taith, cysylltiad a lle. Fe wnaethant gyfarfod yn ysgol Aberaeron ym 1992 a thri degawd yn ddiweddarach mae'r triawd wedi dod at ei gilydd i gynhyrchu corff newydd cyffrous o waith.

Three Artists. Three journeys. Three decades.
Canfas is proud to host this collaborative new show by three female artists who explore notions of memory, journey, connection and place . They met in Aberaeron school in 1992 and three decades later the trio have come together to produce an exciting new body of work.

Hyfforddwyd Diana Heeks yng Ngholeg Celf Birmingham ac yn ddiweddarach enillodd radd MA mewn Celfyddyd Gain o Gaerdydd ac Aberystwyth, ac mae wedi gweithio fel athrawes, therapydd celf, a seramegydd, gan dynnu ysbrydoliaeth o natur, llenyddiaeth, a dylunio dwyreiniol. Mae ei phroses greadigol reddfol yn aml yn dechrau'n chwareus cyn dod yn fwy ffocesedig. Mae'r arlunydd o Gaerdydd, Zena Blackwell, a raddiodd o Central Saint Martins, yn archwilio anhrefn, hiwmor, a thynerwch mamolaeth trwy baentiadau arobryn a ysbrydolwyd gan arsylwi ei phlant.

Diana Heeks, trained at Birmingham College of Art and later earning an MA in Fine Art from Cardiff and Aberystwyth, has worked as a teacher, art therapist, and ceramicist, drawing inspiration from nature, literature, and eastern design. Her intuitive creative process often begins playfully before becoming more focused. Cardiff-based painter Zena Blackwell, a Central Saint Martins graduate, explores the chaos, humour, and tenderness of motherhood through award‑winning paintings inspired by observing her children.

Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi, ynghyd ag orielau o bob cwr o'r byd, fod Oriel Canfas yng Ngorllewin Cymru wedi'i dewis i arddangos yn Ffair Gelf Fforddiadwy eleni yn Hampstead Heath yn Llundain. Ni yw'r unig oriel Gymreig yn y ffair, ynghyd â rhai o'r orielau gorau o bob cwr o'r byd.

We are excited to announce that along with galleries from all over the world Canfas Gallery in West Wales has been chosen to show at this years Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead Heath in London. We are the only welsh gallery at the fair, along with some of the best galleries from  all over the world, Stand D9. Featuring Anne Cakebread, Ian Phillips, Meinir Mathias, Joe Frowen & Natalie Chapman.

Trwy fywyd llonydd a safbwyntiau haenog, mae hi'n arwain gwylwyr ar daith weledol ar draws tirweddau tawel. Mae paentiadau olew Sophie Turner, wedi'u hysbrydoli gan frân wedi'i hanafu yn cyw iâr, yn cyfuno portreadu clasurol â synwyrusrwydd gothig i ddal personoliaeth unigryw'r aderyn.

Sam’s paintings draw inspiration from her personal experiences and walking practice, creating quiet, suspended moments where time seems to pause. Through still life and layered viewpoints, she leads viewers on a visual journey across tranquil landscapes. Sophie Turner’s oil paintings, inspired by an injured crow fledgling, blend classical portraiture with a gothic sensibility to capture the bird’s distinct personality.

Mae Eloise Govier yn peintio gweithiau olew beiddgar, gweadog sy'n cyfleu brys a symudiad, wedi'u hysbrydoli'n aml gan dirweddau Cymru ger ei stiwdio yng Ngheredigion. Mae paentiadau Kathy Thomson yn tynnu ar harddwch garw mynyddoedd, rhosydd ac arfordiroedd Gogledd Sir Benfro, wedi'u creu o gof, dychymyg a brasluniau maes. Mae'r ddau artist yn mynegi'r dwyster emosiynol a'r berthynas ddeinamig rhwng tir, egni a chreadigrwydd.

Eloise Govier paints bold, textured oil works that convey urgency and movement, often inspired by the Welsh landscapes near her Ceredigion studio. Kathy Thomson’s paintings draw from the rugged beauty of North Pembrokeshire’s mountains, moors, and coastlines, created from memory, imagination, and field sketches. Both artists express the emotional intensity and dynamic relationship between land, energy, and creativity.

Mae arddangosfa unigol gyntaf Anne yng Nghanfas yn dathlu trydydd pen-blwydd yr oriel ers agor yn 2019. Gan weithio o'i stiwdio yn yr oriel, mae hi wedi cydbwyso rheoli Canfas â datblygu paentiadau sy'n dal harddwch ac egni gorllewin Cymru. Mae Clare, artist amryddawn sy'n adnabyddus am ei darluniau byw o dirwedd Sir Benfro, wedi ennill sawl gwobr a chafodd ei chomisiynu i baentio'r Arglwydd Elystan Morgan, Llywydd Prifysgol Aberystwyth sy'n ymddeol.

Anne’s first solo exhibition at Canfas celebrates the gallery’s third anniversary since opening in 2019. Working from her studio within the gallery, she has balanced managing Canfas with developing paintings that capture the beauty and energy of west Wales. Clare, a versatile artist known for her vivid depictions of the Pembrokeshire landscape, has earned multiple awards and was commissioned to paint Lord Elystan Morgan, the retiring University of Aberystwyth President.

Mae gwaith Charlotte yn archwilio rhythmau natur, gan ddal ein cysylltiad â'r dirwedd a'r symbolaeth ynddi. Wedi'i denu at amgylcheddau arfordirol, mae ei hangerdd dros y môr a syrffio yn ysbrydoli darluniau trochol o arfordir Cymru trwy brintiau leino a thorri pren. Ers 1998, mae James wedi datblygu dull nodedig o beintio tirwedd o'i stiwdio yn Bolton, gan greu gweithiau olew emosiynol dan arweiniad greddf ac ymroddiad.

Charlotte’s work explores the rhythms of nature, capturing our connection to the landscape and the symbolism within it. Drawn to coastal environments, her passion for the sea and surfing inspires immersive depictions of the Welsh shoreline through lino and woodcut printmaking. Since 1998, James has developed a distinctive approach to landscape painting from his Bolton studio, creating emotive oil works led by instinct and dedication.

Mae arddangosfa Iwan Bala yn archwilio cwestiynau diwylliannol a hunaniaeth—megis y tensiwn rhwng croesffrwythloni a chymryd rhan—ond mae'n gwneud hynny'n anuniongyrchol yn hytrach nag yn wrthdaro. Wedi'i lleoli yng Nghastellnewydd Emlyn, mae Nicole Menegaldo yn creu tirweddau swrealaidd wedi'u hysbrydoli gan yr awydd i ddiogelu ffyrdd o fyw gwledig a thraddodiadol Cymru. Trwy ei gwaith, mae hi'n gobeithio deffro gwerthfawrogiad o harddwch a threftadaeth Cymru yn ein calonnau.

Iwan Bala’s exhibition explores cultural and identity questions—such as the tension between cross-fertilization and appropriation—but does so indirectly rather than confrontationally. Based in Newcastle Emlyn, Nicole Menegaldo creates surrealist landscapes inspired by the desire to preserve Wales’s rural and traditional ways of life. Through her work, she hopes to awaken an appreciation for the beauty and heritage of Wales in our hearts.

Magwyd Ceri H Pritchard yn Llangefni, Ynys Môn, ac mae'n fab i'r artistiaid Cymreig Gwilym Prichard a Claudia Williams ac yn raddedig o Ysgol Gelf Lerpwl. Mae ei deithiau a'i brofiadau wedi llunio arddull swrealaidd glasurol sy'n gyfoethog mewn symbolaeth a ffurf. Yn yr un modd, mae gwaith Leigh Sinclair yn archwilio alegori, patrwm, llinell a lliw, gan greu cyfansoddiadau lled-haniaethol haenog lle mae haniaeth a ffiguraeth yn croestorri.

Ceri H Pritchard, who grew up in Llangefni, Anglesey, is the son of Welsh artists Gwilym Prichard and Claudia Williams and a graduate of the Liverpool School of Art. His travels and experiences have shaped a classically surrealist style rich in symbolism and form. Leigh Sinclair’s work similarly explores allegory, pattern, line, and colour, creating layered semi-abstract compositions where abstraction and figuration intersect.

Mae Sgorio ’22 yn uno artistiaid o bob cwr o Gymru a greodd waith mewn ymateb i Gwpan y Byd FIFA yn Qatar, gan archwilio themâu hunaniaeth, diwylliant a balchder cenedlaethol. Mae'r arddangosfa'n myfyrio ar etifeddiaeth pêl-droed Cymru wrth fynd i'r afael â materion fel hawliau gweithwyr a moeseg y gamp. Trwy'r ddeialog greadigol hon rhwng celf a phêl-droed, mae Sgorio ’22 yn hyrwyddo gwerthoedd diwylliannol Cymru a'i safbwynt byd-eang.

Sgorio ’22 unites artists from across Wales who created work in response to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, exploring themes of identity, culture, and national pride. The exhibition reflects on Wales’ football legacy while addressing issues such as workers’ rights and the ethics of the sport. Through this creative dialogue between art and football, Sgorio ’22 promotes Wales’ cultural values and global perspective.
